ABOUT US
Rooted in the communities of Swan River and Dauphin, Manitoba, Red Road Compass provides Indigenous focused information, training and Land Based Learning to individuals and organizations. Our mandate is to support and encourage reconciliation and cultural safety for all people regardless of their cultural identity.

During our 50+ years of professional experience, we identified the need in our communities to create a company that approached learning in a holistic, balanced way that incorporates an Indigenous perspective.

Red Road Compass provides participants the opportunity to either learn in a formal boardroom setting or out on the land. Professional development opportunities can also arranged with us and offered in a location of your choosing. Check out the Services page for more information about what we offer.
What is... The Red Road Concept?
The Red Road concept is rooted in Oglala Lakota tradition and was brought into the world by the respected Elder Black Elk (Hehaka Sapa 1863-1950). We offer our sincere thank you for this teaching.

The Red Road is recognized as a metaphor for the healthy life path for all people. It is a path that provides spiritual, physical, emotional and mental balance. We recognize and respect the fact that each person defines this life balance differently.

The name Red Road Compass was chosen because we believe that we have a responsibility to point you and/or your organization towards accurate, honest and useful information. Our hope is that this information will allow you to establish a stronger life / work balance.

In an effort to strengthen our community we draw upon the teachings of our Elders, traditions and experiences in the hope that people will see the value of walking the Red Road.
